The Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts (HB APA) is pleased to announce that Sharie Nitkin-Perez has joined the faculty of APA’s Theatre Department. Her primary focus will be working with the Actors’ Rep students.
Sharie Nitkin has been a performer since childhood and a theater/voice teacher for over 22 years. She is an APA alum, holds a B.A. in Theater from SFSU, Teaching Credentials in PE/Dance, Music, English/Theater, and a M.A. in Education from National University. As a young performer, she worked professionally at regional theaters, and trained as a ballet dancer. She’s taught and directed/choreographed/vocally directed throughout California and NYC, with organizations such as: APA, MTA of Orange County, ADBA, the Leadership Program, Huston School of Music & Theater, Cabrillo Playhouse, OUSD, Phantom Projects, PYLUSD, and previously heading up performing arts at El Rancho Charter School. She taught voice lessons privately in her home studio for over 15 years. Sharie was the Musical Theater Department director at McCoy Rigby Arts for 6 years, and was
the studio director for its final year in Yorba Linda. Sharie is thrilled to be returning to APA to direct
The 39 Steps, having previously directed Museum and Alice In Wonderland.
