Drama, Dance, Art , Vocals, and Fun! Students will experience the arts through active participation in visual art, music, dance, and acting, conducted, at visual and performing arts facilities at Huntington Beach High School.

 

Dance Intensive!

July 13th-24th, Mon-Fri, 1-7PM

Our intensive can make all the difference. Join APA Dance faculty and renowned guest choreographers for a summer dance experience guaranteed to boost your dance skills. Students will study modern, contemporary, ballet, jazz, aerial, tap, and hip-hop styles.

Film 1-Day Workshop!

July 21st, Mon-Fri, 8:30AM-3PM

We have the actors, we invite you to be the filmmaker! Learn the behind the scenes basics of filmmaking! From screenplay writing, storyboarding, lighting, cinematography, directing, editing, and more! By the end of the camp, students will have their very own completed short film, and a screening!
 

Costume Design & Fashion 1-Day Workshop!

July 23rd, Mon-Fri, 8:30AM-3PM

Spend the day in the fabulous world of fashion and costume design! In this hands-on workshop, students will learn basic sewing skills, work with simple patterns, and create a project they can take home. Students may choose to design a custom bag with fun embellishments or sew their own pajama pants/shorts. Whether you are brand new to sewing or ready to try something creative, this workshop is a great way to stitch, style and make something uniquely yours!

The benefit show for the APA Theatre Department which includings Acting, Dramatic Production, and Musical Theatre majors.

Join us for four shows with itty bitty bites & big laughs in the APA Studio Theater (black box behind the auditorium).

Ten explorers. Four boats. One Grand Canyon. MEN ON BOATS is the true(ish) history of an 1869 expedition to chart the Colorado River. 
 

Equal parts thrilling adventure and sharp-witted comedy, Jaclyn Backhaus' MEN ON BOATS offers a daring and humorous retelling of history that explores the meaning of pushing forward when faced with peril. The year is 1869. Guided by the spirited explorer John Wesley Powell, an eclectic group of adventurers embarks on a quest to chart the Colorado River and American frontier driven by ambition, hunger, and a touch of madness. They encounter perilous rapids, conflicting personalities, and a fair share of chaos.

The most popular Musical of all times - Andrew Lloyd Webber's masterwork is a timeless story of seduction and despair. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA tells the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command. With a masterful score that has topped the musical theater charts for years, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s enthralling score includes “Think of Me,” “Angel of Music,” “‘Music of the Night,” “All I Ask of You,” “Masquerade” and the title song - "The Phantom Of The Opera". Truly an experience never to be forgotten!

THE BACCHAE

THE BACCHAE is an ancient Greek tragedy, written by the Athenian playwright Euripides during his final years in Macedonia, at the court of Archelaus I of Macedon. 

Young ruler Pentheus is furious at the sudden arrival of a stranger and the female followers of Dionysus, the Baccahae. Pentheus and his family have disavowed Dionysus as Zeus’ son. Ironically, Dionysus is a member of this family. Slowly, methodically, Dionysus takes his revenge on the family. The Bacchae dramatizes the battle between opposing forces in the conflict between the rationality and frenzy, and the horrific consequences of of late honor and recognition.

Join us for the SOUNDS OF THE SEASON 2026 celebrating the holiday season around the globe and it might even include snow! The APA Orchestra will perform joined by artists from all APA pathways (Acting, Costume Design, Dance, Dramatic Production, Media, Musical Theatre, Popular Music, Orchestra, and Technical Theatre). Saturday’s show is extra special because it is the annual benefit concert for the EEFA (Educational Enrichment Foundation for the Arts) which supports APA as well as the vibrant arts programs offered by the HBUHSD feeder middle schools.

THE ANNUAL FUNDRAISER FOR MMET, for the third year in a row celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Beatles recordings with a session-by-session account of their most creative and groundbreaking period. 1967 saw the release of their most celebrated LP Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band as well as some smash singles and Magical Mystery Tour EP and its accompanying film.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s  musical CATS is set amongst a larger-than-life junkyard playground and is alive with purr-fect felines. The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year – the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one, they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy. Originally directed by Trevor Nunn and featuring musical staging by Gillian Lynne, the all-singing, all-dancing Tony-winning musical spectacular has been translated into 16 languages.
