MMET Recognized in CA Student Media Festival

The Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts (HB APA) is proud to announce that students from its Music, Media and Entertainment Technology Department (MMET) have been recognized in the California Student Media Festival 2022.

MMET student director Spencer McDonald has been selected as a finalist for his music video “Beautiful Mind,” which was made in collaboration with fellow MMET student Brayden Nguyen, who composed and recorded the original song. View the video online at hbapa.online/beautiful-mind.

The “Beautiful Mind” music video will be shown during MMET’s Private Screening Film Festival this weekend, which takes place on Saturday, May 21st at 6:00 p.m. in the APA Studio Theater. Tickets to the film festival are available at hbapa.org/see.

“Beautiful Mind” was first performed during MMET’s Playlist show in February, which pairs original songs created by MMET’s Popular Music students with music videos created by its student Media Team.

MMET students often collaborate as they tackle all aspects of performing arts and media production. The students utilize cutting-edge, industry-standard equipment to create original songs, music videos, stage productions, and short films. This unique curriculum has made MMET one of the most celebrated music and media programs in the country.

APA congratulates its students on their recognition as finalists in the California Student Media Festival (CSMF). View all of this year’s finalists on the CSMF website at mediafestival.org/finalists. Winners will be announced during the festival this Saturday, May 21st at 2:00 p.m. To attend the virtual ceremony, visit hbapa.online/csmf.
