JENNY McCLINTOCK APA is Named Interim APA Artistic Director

The Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts (HB APA) is proud to announce Jenny McClintock as HB APA’s Interim Artistic Director.

As a graduate of Fountain Valley High School, Ms. McClintock has been singing, dancing, and acting since the age of three, with many of her performances taking place in the HBUHSD Auditorium. Jenny possesses a strong background in Arts Education, holds a BFA in Theater Performance from Chapman University, and teaching credential from California State University, Fullerton. She has direct industry experience including roles on General Hospital, Nickelodeon’s Victorious, and a short film that won top honors at the LA Comedy Shorts festival.

During her time in Los Angeles, Ms. McClintock refined her craft under the tutelage of acclaimed master teacher Ivana Chubbuck. Using the Chubbuck Technique, she began teaching private acting lessons, which led to the formation of a children’s theater in South Orange County with friends. It was during the next eleven years that she honed her skills as a teacher and developed a passion for educational theater.

Ever since Ms. McClintock joined the APA team, she has infused the APA Program with her wealth of knowledge and infectious enthusiasm. Stepping into the role of APA Artistic Director, students will continue to grow exponentially from her guidance, fostering their growth, confidence, and skill set under her mentorship.

In my three years as a teacher at APA I’ve been impressed with the creative energy and the incredibly supportive culture fostered amongst the students and staff. It is my honor to step into the role of Artistic Director, and to build upon APA’s extraordinary legacy of providing our students with a robust arts curriculum in an inclusive environment. APA’s exceptional educators inspire our students to reach their potential and prepare them to become confident artists and leaders in their fields. I am so proud to be a part of this program.” - Jenny McClintock
