The Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts (HB APA) is pleased to announce that Bishop Rhone has joined the faculty of APA’s Music, Media & Entertainment Technology (MMET) department and Huntington Beach High School. Bishop Rhone joined APA as an MMET Media Assistant Teacher in 2021 and has lent his expertise as a Master Teacher at APA and HBHS in Campus Update.
An APA alum and HBHS graduate, Mr. Rhone holds a degree in Film and TV and an AME CTE Credential. Screenplay writer, animator, film and live event director, and the occasional on-screen talent, Bishop J. Rhone is an MMET Media Alumni turned faculty teacher. Bishop has worked for the OC Fair, Knott’s Scary Farm, Beachlife Festival, and the Henson Company as a video supervisor and live switcher. After establishing a production company in 2023, he has produced seven short films, with writing credits on four, and directing credits on three. When not producing or directing, Bishop can be found writing screenplays, watching old cartoons on VHS, and dreaming up new ways to help students learn film production. He hopes to inspire the next generation of filmmakers to live by his mantra, “Always Be Creating.”
“It’s been incredible working with the Media Team over the years, both as a student myself, and a college assistant, and now in a much more official capacity. I hope to inspire the future generations of students, filmmakers, and artists to create, learn, and grow. This year is going to be exciting! I’d like to thank you all for supporting me on this journey!” - Bishop Rhone
